Sensei Alanna Faby

Sensei Alanna is currently in her 3rd year at Florida State University studying animation and digital arts in the film school. Right now, she is working on her first animated film with her classmates.

She started her martial arts journey by practicing Tae Kwon Do in Pembroke Pines, Florida at Power and Glory Karate. After receiving her green belt, she soon discovered Cuong Nhu through her father, Steven Faby, who had done the style previously, and started training at Evolution Dojo in south Florida. Shortly after joining, her mother and father also started their training in Cuong Nhu and have been training together as a family since. One year later, Sensei Alanna and her family moved to Jacksonville, Florida, and continued their Cuong Nhu training at World Headquarters, training with Grandmaster Quynh, Master Jessica, and their children, who also are the black belts in Cuong Nhu. . During that time, after she received her black belt, she taught the students there as well. After 5 years of training there, she worked her way up to shodan, graduated high school, and moved on to college.

During her freshman year, she discovered Bamboo Dojo at FSU, and she decided to join. In this dojo, she became a part of another Cuong Nhu family and has a wonderful time training with them. She is a quick learner and excels at performing kata demonstrations. Currently, she is fulfilling two roles: assisting Master Vu in training the lower-ranking students and continuing her training for Nidan. Although she is working in a demanding program at FSU, she always manages to make time to go to practice and works closely with Master Vu with teaching and training.

On many occasions, especially when Master Vu Trinh cannot make it to the class, Sensei Alanna has always taken her responsibilities very professionally as an excellent leader to run the class and make sure that the Bamboo Dojo and its students are in the well-organized direction. With her exceptional attitude and a well-trained experienced black belt, Sensei Alanna has impressed not only the students but also Master Vu Trinh. Although very busy with her school workload, she's in the process of preparing to take the test for her next level in Cuong Nhu Martial Arts. Hopefully soon, Sensei Alanna will pass her test and become a Nidan Black Belt. The Bamboo Dojo is very happy and proud to have a strong member like her.
